She She A Perfect Day Collection
Welcome to a world where imaginations are ignited and curiosity is sparked. A world of far-off travels, frolicking unicorns, and all the joys of a warm summer day. It sounds like a true fairytale, but in fact, is the inspiration behind our new kids’ wallpaper collection in partnership with She She, A Perfect Day. In A Perfect Day, childhood delights play out on nursery, bedroom or bathroom walls in a way that’s vibrantly youthful, yet sophisticated all at once.
We spoke with Jenny and Kate, the founders of She She Design House, to get an intimate look at the inspiration behind the new collection. Whimsical, fantastical and fun, you’ll understand why these new peel and stick wallpaper prints spark so much joy upon seeing them– it’s all in the design!
From afar, Into the Forest looks like a sophisticated toile wallpaper print. Look closer though, and you will uncover a fantastical woodland, chock full of enchantment. And the spark behind the pattern? The idea of creating a forest merged with unicorns to delight Jenny’s own mother and daughter, who love unicorns. An idea, that to the delight of all, expanded as they brainstormed.
“We dreamt up what kind of animals would be mingling together in the forest and built the entire scenes from our imaginations,” said Kate.
To She She, designing this pattern felt like a lighthearted escape during a heavy world. And they dove deep, storytelling through the elements they imagined, like a love story unfolding between the swans, a blooming friendship between the cardinal and the rabbit, a unicorn returning from a long journey to share its tales with its old friend the frog, a mysterious black swan that has just flown in from a faraway land, and a guardian peacock standing watch over it all.
It’s what would happen if, “A calm stroll through your backyard forest turns into a magical, otherworldly experience,” said Jenny.
Three words She She would use to describe this pattern:
Summer is Paris, a detailed scene of anthropomorphic animals going about a day in the City of Love, was inspired by Kate’s recent trip there. Upon returning home, “my mind drifted to a fun and whimsical place, imagining what animal characters might be doing on a summer day in Paris,” she said. And the result is nothing short of charming.
To create this mural, the design duo started by plotting out their favorite Parisian restaurants, streets and landmarks. Laughing aloud, they started to think of ducks wearing scarves and Ostriches sailing down the Seine.
“Once we decided to lean into fun animal characters around the city, that made us fall in love with designing this mural even more. We got excited to enchant young minds as they look up at the wallpaper and dream of visiting Paris one day,” said Kate.
For this mural, Kate and Jenny hand sketched the places and characters by hand, then painted them in water colors.
“We hope the characters bring joy and make families smile as they discover and get to know the characters within it bit by bit!”
For Unicorn Garden, She She leaned into unicorns again, but with a fully different personality than Into The Forest.
“We have been unicorn wallpaper deprived and decided we needed two in this kid focused collection,” said Kate.
The design inspiration behind this print is drawn from scandi-style and otomi elements. According to Jenny, the result is the atmosphere you would enjoy on a “hot, squinty, summer day in the yard.”
Designing this peel and stick wallpaper was collaborative. The duo started with a pencil sketch to lay out the icons, then mirrored the design. As the pattern came together, they would identify any holes or gaps in the design, and then brainstorm a fun, summery icon to fill it in. Many of the icons were inspired personally by Jenny’s own daughter. Snails, dandelions, princess crowns, strawberries, caterpillars, flowers, bees, dragonflies, and unicorns all are subtly scattered in as a lovely, magical result.
“I think this pattern is very peak summer. A care-free unicorn frolicking amongst the gardens. Ripe strawberries ready to be picked! Blooms in full color! What is not to love?” - Kate
To round out the new peel and stick wallpaper assortment, She She added Dandelion Block Print. They relished the idea of layering a playful block print, something they love, into the collection.
“We thought this would be a great option for those that want a more traditional look,” said Kate.
The print is layered, playful and calming, lending itself to rooms beyond children’s area. Yet still, according to Jenny, it “symbolizes that carefree feeling of being a kid, running through a field, having no concern at all about spreading weed seeds everywhere.”
“You can't help but feel happy when you look at this print, and happiness is the best ingredient in any space.” - Jenny
From personal inspirations, to renowned cities and the simple love of certain prints, the new Tempaper & Co. X She She A Perfect Day peel and stick wallpaper collection tells a visual story full of youthful delights for both young and old.
