2026 Interior Design Trends - Our Predictions

Hey design friends! If you’re wondering what to expect from 2026 design trends, you’ve come to the right place. Our expert in-house designers have rounded up what Tempaper thinks will be some of the hottest styles in the year ahead.

Interior Design Trends for 2026

On a macro level, we think these trends are going to be huge players in 2026 interior designs.

Arts & Craft Style: This style stems from the 19th-century Arts & Crafts movement that started in Britain. The movement, spearheaded by famed artists including William Morris, was a response to the rise of industrialization and mass production, creating a decline of artisanal, hand-made products. Within this movement, which advocated for artists as designers and highlighted the importance of quality materials, organic motifs featuring plants, birds, and animals were popularized. Now, we’re seeing the rise of this historic style again.

Craftsman Style: A spinoff of the arts and crafts movement, the focus on quality materials, appears in a more modern light when you look at Craftsman Style. Design schemes are going to largely lean into styles that feel more artisan and well crafted in 2026. With this, you’ll see styles showcasing the raw beauty of natural materials, such as brick, grasscloth and wood.

Nostalgic Country: We’re really feeling nostalgic country style in 2026 and predict this is one that will live on through the year and beyond. For good reason, too! This interior trend is all about comforting, vintage elements that simply make a space feel like home.

Think muted, earthy color palettes layered with raw elements such as dried flowers and fresh greenery. Add in a few antique items for history and character, like a weathered blanket chest or an heirloom cupboard. This aesthetic is cozy at its finest!

Color Design Trends for 2026

Butter: We're predicting that soft, buttery yellows are going to have a big moment in 2026, specifically come springtime. This inviting shade of yellow truly enlivens a space and we love how it inspires optimism and creativity.

Wallpaper Trends for 2026

Wall Prints: We have big expectations for wall prints that really stand out in 2026. Fine details, contours and depth are going to be largely in style this year. Specifically, we expect to see a rise in prints that feature some of the below elements:

  • Statement stones

  • Archival florals

  • Fine stripes

  • Tone on tone compositions

  • Gridded construction

  • Stylized contours

Murals: Wall Murals are going to make a splash in 2026 as well. We think murals tracking heritage design through traditional, vintage appeal (such as botanicals), as well as nature-inspired scenes and kid murals will be in high demand.

Animals conversationally: Another trend we expect to see on the rise this year is animals conversationally on walls. Think beyond the typical spots and stripes in traditional animal prints. This trend will be about beloved wildlife featured in playful and intricate settings.

Custom Wallpaper: Finally, we expect a rise in custom wallpaper in the new year. Personalized style is trending, and the capability to customize expressive wall art will make it a lasting staple.
