2026 Interior Design Trends - Our Predictions

Hey design friends! If you’re wondering what to expect from 2026 interior design trends, you’ve come to the right place. Our expert in-house designers have rounded up what Tempaper thinks will be some of the hottest styles in the year ahead.

2026 Interior Style Trends

On a macro level, we think these trends are going to be huge players in 2026 interior and exterior designs.

Craft Style: Craft style stems from the 19th-century Arts & Crafts movement that started in Britain. The movement overall was a response to the rise of industrialization and the diminishment of artisanal, well-made products. Now, we’re seeing the rise of this movement once again.

We think interior design schemes are going to largely lean into styles that feel more artisan and well crafted. With this, you’ll see design schemes that showcase the raw beauty of natural materials, such as brick, stone and wood. We also plan to see more organic motifs incorporating plants, birds, and animals in their designs.

While this is not a new trend, it is certainly a movement we feel is timely in 2026, and one we expect to see year-round as a heavy favorite.

Nostalgic Country: We’re really feeling nostalgic country style in 2026 and we think this is one that will live on through the year. For good reason, too! This interior trend is all about comforting, vintage elements that simply make a space feel like home.

Think muted, earthy color palettes layered with raw elements such as dried flowers and fresh greenery. Add in a few antique items for history and character, like a weathered blanket chest or an heirloom cupboard.

This aesthetic is cozy at its finest!

Butter: We are really feeling soft, buttery yellows for 2026. And we are predicting this inviting shade of yellow will have a big moment, specifically come springtime. This color truly enlivens a space and we love how it inspires optimism and creativity.

Soft Grey: The leading color experts have named a lovely shade of grey as the color for this year. We love this color for its versatility and neutrality. It makes for a balanced backdrop that supports a wide range of design aesthetics.

2026 Wallpaper Design Trends

We have big expectations for wall prints that really stand out in 2026. Fine details, contours and depth are going to be largely in style this year. Specifically, we expect to see a rise in prints that feature some of the below elements:

  • Statement stones

  • Archival florals

  • Fine stripes

  • Tone on tone compositions

  • Gridded construction

  • Stylized contours

Wall murals are going to make a splash in 2026 as well. We think that murals tracking heritage design through traditional, vintage appeal (such as botanicals), as well as nature-inspired scenes and kid murals will be a hit.

We also expect to see more animals conversationally on walls this year. Think beyond the typical spots and stripes in traditional animal prints. This trend will be about beloved wildlife featured in playful and intricate settings.

Lastly, we expect a rise in custom wallpaper in the new year. Personalized style is trending, and the capability to customize expressive wall art will make it a lasting staple.
