We recently had the honor of working with Dwell With Dignity to create a design for one of their incredible clients. In this particular project, we had the added joy of working with Tempaper and the One Room Challenge.
We previously used Tempaper in our designs with clients, but we had not yet brought it into a Dwell with Dignity project. When we first met Tie, an incredible woman who has worked to overcome unimaginable obstacles and homelessness, we were amazed by her drive and dedication. When we toured her space, we were truly inspired by her story and wanted to give her a space that was simultaneously relaxing and rejuvenating for her and her family. The paint color throughout the home was, well, in a word...drab. That certainly does not help one relax or rejuvenate! We wanted to truly transform the entire space, and Tempaper was the way to do it!
For the main living space, we wrapped every wall in Spatter by designer Bobby Berk, and the room was instantly brighter and more cheerful! It complimented every other item that went into the space and helped make everything feel fresh.
For her master bedroom wall, we simply had to have Brass Belly by Genevieve Gorder! When we saw it go up on the wall, we literally gasped. It is so glamorous and instantly became the star of the room. Every single other decision in the room was driven by its shimmer. It was Tie's favorite thing in the whole home, and she said it makes her feel like she is living in a posh hotel every day.
The power that Tempaper has to transform spaces is unreal; in this case, it made all the difference in the design and a tremendous difference in the life of this client.
Cheers to a fabulous collaboration and to a true transformation!

More About Dwell with Dignity
The organization partners with local social services agencies that have programs in place to take families from homelessness and poverty to self-sufficiency. They nominate families that have made a commitment to self-sufficiency and changing their life. Often times, after a family has received all of the counseling, training, and support from our partner agencies, they find themselves struggling to provide a home in which they can thrive. Dwell with Dignity addresses this critical economic need through our mission. Dwell with Dignity continues to grow and now have 8 paid staff plus our beloved volunteers. Based in Dallas, Dwell with Dignity works with families in Dallas County and now in Atlanta. Founded in 2009, Dwell with Dignity will have completed 97 projects to date.
